Where is the cheapest place to get the Stage II setup? I was quoted $484. 00 at a place here in Denver! That's with the prefilter and tax but I about fell over. Thanks.

If I'm keeping the truck stock, is the Stage II needed or would the Stage I be alright? I'm looking for cooler EGTs and wonder if there is any difference between the two, EGT wise.

I first had just the stage 1 and ran it about 15k miles. I then bought the new torque tube and I will tell you that I didn't notice a lick of difference! I have read what Afe has on their site and from alot of members here but like I said, that was $87 I wish I had not spent.

I would agree with SVazquez, I have the Stage I and Torque Tube. I have ran with both the stock tube/baffleing and the torque tube. I can not tell any difference in the spool up or EGTs between the Torque Tube and stock tubing. The only difference is looks and turbo whine, which I like.

The Stage I with a Pro-Guard 7 filter for otherwise stock truck is going to give you a little more air flow to the turbo, but without a high flow muffler, you will not see much difference from stock. Just my . 02.

AFE Web site has pretty new flash picturers now that show stage I and stage II.

The Stage I is just the air box and filter. You can add the Torque Tube to the Stage I and basically have a Stage II setup.

The new Stage II has the Torque Tube as all one piece and is attached to the air box. It also uses a bigger filter with a bigger inlet into the tubing.

I'm actually also considering a muffler elimination kit from Geno's. I don't want loud, just more airflow. I figure with the cat and turbo, it won't be too loud. Wadyathink?

I have the Banks Monster 4" Cat Back exhaust and muffler, it does help the EGTs. It is about as loud as I want to go for normal driving. It is pretty loud on hard excelleration and especially with a load. It is fine for normal driving and cruising on the highway. For when I am at the drag strip I think I will look at installing a cutout kit in front of the cat. I have heard a couple of straight piped 600s and one with stacks. They are pretty loud. I think it would get irritating on the highway after a while. I had true dual Magnaflows with 3" out and 3. 5" tips on my Hemi and they were loud. They drove me crazy on the highway over 75mph. I had to take them off, they also set off every car alarm in the parking lots, some even from the street.

Could someone please tell the difference between the AFE stage 1 and stage 2 kits???

Stage 1 uses the stock intake tube. Stage 2 replaces everything. That is why you hear about people getting a Torque Tube to go along with their Stage 1 - to replace the stock tube and elbows.

Stage 2 also has a cover for the box and the filter is supposed to be bigger.

Here are some pics of a Stage 2 I just installed. The blue thing is a pre-filter (baggie thing you slip over the filter).
