But why should I pay so much to play? $300+ seems like an outlandish price for what you get. For some it looks like a good deal as all they have to do is get on the phone or net and order one. For others, it's a joke as a BHAF can be built for less. Take the torque tube, close to $100 from parts that might cost $30. The only thing that the torque tube would have different than the tube I could build would be the powder coating, and for the price difference I could get a home powder coating set up from Eastwood and be able to powder coat other objects after I was done coating the tube.
This is like the disagreement I had with the guy that builds the Tymar air filter for the PSD. I built a knock off of his design for less than what he said I could get the parts for. If some one enjoys building stuff (that includes the time researching and sourcing the parts), the price of these things looks way wrong.
I have the pre-filter on the Pro-Guard 7 and it still gets more air than stock. Spools a little quicker and with the exhaust EGTs down about 100* across the board from stock.
