AFE turbo noise......

Well, the AFE went to Colorado today. So i'm back with the stock air box. If AFE or someone comes out with something that will fit the stock air box, or something not so loud, i'd be interested. Say, does drilling the bottom of the stock air box do anything for flow, or is it just smoke and mirrors?? Sarge

Scott 1, I don't know, if this will help for you to decide with manufacturing of Pro Guard 7 for Scotty II and III, but I will buy and if you make pre filter I will buy this too. I em very happy with Scotty II, but If I can improve filtration I will go for it.

Me too. Got Scotty's version II on order ... back order but would be very interested in a quieter filter. Especially if it's like the difference between the RE-0880 & the BHAF.

Not so good news.

Spoke to Dave at aFE today... they cannot make a Pro Guard 7 with the filters needed for the Scotty II or III.

The material is so thick it will not pleat correctly or fit their forming molds.



Sorry folks, I was really looking forward to getting one myself.

Suggest contacting Advanced Thermo Products in Santa Ana, CA. They are also a vendor on this site. Their thermo blankets would quiet that turbo whine, as well as others I apologize if someone else has already recommended, but I didn't have time to read all responses.

AFE noise

I have the Mega Cannon in my truck. I contacted AFE and they have no ideas as to how to reduce noise. I have an idea I am going to try. Let you know.

Well, I posted the AFE for sale in the TDR classifieds. It sold in one day. Now it's off to a new home in Co. But, now i'm back to the stock air box. BTW, I bought a Purolator filter for it, and it had the pre-filter pad attached to the face like the old one did. Cost 22 bucks. Well, at least it's quieter... ... ... ... . (and so the passenger seat) Sarge
