Hey all, I know there's a lot of discussion lately about the various air boxes, and I was just curious as to the filtering difference specifically between the UNI, as what Scotty uses, and the ProGuard 7?

Thanks in advance!

I would be willing to bet you drop in at AFE and they could flow your uni and show you what flows better :D

Anyone use one of these... . check out yhe website: http://www.psmbuick.com/

Reason I ask, is I had a K&N FPIK on my 5. 9 Gasser and it wasnt what I was after... . all things being equal, I think it hurt as it was just sucking in hot air... .

I like the concept of ths psm as it gets it's air external and still uses the stock filter for engine protection... and I dont have to oil the thing...

Any thoughs from the experts

I put it on my truck and saw absulutly zip... ... ... ... no egt reduction,no increase in performance. I DID BOTH 0-60 AND 1/4 MILE TIMES DID NOT IMPROVE. Definatly not worth my money. It also picks up air right down in the dirt if you off road. The ony change is when you do it with the AFE replacement element. I saw the same reults with the add on tube blocked as with it open. Nice theory but no gains on my truck so it got shipped back ;)

Not to hijack the thread... but what about the new AEM dry flow filters? To me that seems to really be the ticket as they're reuasble but do not use oil in the filter media. Did some research and the filtration as well as CFM seems equal to AFE.

Anyone used them yet?

Which one?

I have been reading abou the AEM. It says 99. % of course dirt and it will filter down to one micron. AFE claims 99. 5 of fine dirt with the progaurd 7.
