Has anyone installed the BD or Banks intercoolers on their trucks? If so did you notice much of a difference in the performance? REason I ask is that they modified a stock one at work and improved the flow 30%. The stock one is pretty restrictive, but with some welding and porting I'm wondering if I'll get the same flow characteristics as the Banks or BD? I looked at the BD and aside from enlarging the tanks a little and the tube diameters it still looks as restrictive as the stock one. Haven't seen the Banks one.

just installed bd one last night on a buddys easy to install bolts right up but I dont like how they use the factory tubes. banks comes w/ bigger tubes. It seems to be smoother but egts still git up there pretty quick hes got afe stage I exhaust & tst on 04 1/2. Ive got afe stageII w/ 4" exhaust & hot juice I'm going to go w/ httubo 64-14 but it seems to flow better need more time to test.

Banks Technicooler

I also just installed a Banks Technicooler. What i have noticed so far is steady state EGT"S are lower by approximately 125 degrees. The most impressive thing to me is that when cruising 70 mph, my boost is only 2-3 psi instead of 6-8... Should result in some fuel savings... . With the TST turned up, I can still reach 1375 no prob while accelerating. The best reason to replace is that I got rid of that plastic end tanked factory crap...

The Banks is one impressive unit and it comes with the High Ram in the kit. For the price, I think it is the best value. Mind you, I am not a Banks fan so to speak, however, I have to acknowledge this is a great product that provides its' claims and is a good value.
