Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) after market side mirrors

I'm looking to replace my 2001. 5 2500 flip up towing mirrors. I would like to replace them with electric adjust as the original are manual. Has anyone done this? Was it difficult and were can I find the mirrors. I know Geno's carries the CIPA mirrors but it looks to me from the short paragraph in the catalog that you can only replace with what you have ie: electric to electric, manual to manual. Any help or comments would be appreciated.

I just did the swap, it was simple.



just check for the harness



the wiring harness on the drivers door (2) 1 for mirror and the other for the mirror switch and (1) on the passenger door.



My plan is to just use the tow mirror during tow season and run the power mirrors the rest of the time.



You can find the mirrors in the TDR classifieds and buy the switch from mopar4less

With a little work you can retro-fit the new heated, power towing mirrors to our trucks.



Rob Thomas pulled it off. It's pretty slick.

Do all the truck come wired for the electric mirrors even if they came from the factory with the manual mirrors? I would assume that they do for ease of manufacturing at the factory, but then again I've rarely seen common sense used in the auto industry. LOL
