Does anyone have an aftermarket alarm system on their truck? Looking to install one when I go back to school. My friend's car got broken into last year in the area we are going to be living and I don't want that to happen to me. Looking for suggestions on a good system. Thanks.

Just my opinion about alarms but if they are just looking to get in a grab something the alarm isn't going to scare them off. Most people dont pay attention to alarms anymore. I use to have a range rover that got broken into more times then I can remember down by work no matter what alarm I tried. If the area is that bad most people wont pay attention to it, including those breaking in. Don't leave anything of value in sight, I use to leave the glove box open towards then end so they would nothing was in the truck to steal. If they dont see anything they want then they will move along. Most times they break in becasue they see a cell phone, or a radio, or a bag or just about anything that looks like it may have some value.

Alarms are useless, unless your intent is to annoy the people to have to hear it.

If you don't want someone stealing things from your truck, hide things in the storage bins or leave nothing in it.

I have had my vehicles broken into a couple times. After the first time there hasn't been anything of value in the vehicle. The last 2 times they were trying to steel the vehicle and the ignition/starter lockout devices (non-dealer/factory stuff) are what saved the vehicle.

If you want more details on the device I use send me a PM and I'll be happy to share with you.
