I have been considering installing an aftermarker seat heater in my truck and would like to get some input from those of you that have. Have any of you purchased the heaters that Geno's offer in their catalog? How bad was the installation? Where do you mount the controls?

I bought that seat heater and put it in my wife's old 4runner. Mounted the switch in her floor console. Worked great for at least 3 yrs (she traded for a new 4runner). I removed the seat for the install. It's on my list for my truck now.

I put the heaters in from Geno's on both front seats. The install was easy as long as you take the seats out of the truck, four bolts. I put my switch in the cig. lighter hole (Ryan had placed his here and said it was a great spot with no need to modify anything), I figure I had enough power ports I did not need this one. I placed the wifes switch in the location of the air bag off switch(reg Cab) This way they look factory and are in the same location on both sides of the dash.

The seat heaters from Geno's work great and are very easy to install. I did mine in 1. 5hrs give or take and did not remove the seats or the covers.

I have used them for 2 winters every day on my work truck with 0 problems.

I used these. Work great, took about an hour to install (but I have aftermarket leather). I left the seats in, IMO removing them wouldn't be any easier since you really have to tug to reinstall the covers. Having them bolted to the truck helps.

Thanks for sharing your experiance with this item. It sounds like the install is a nice weekend project. I am happy to see that these units seems to be working fine after two years of service. I am still a lttle unclear as to where the switch is best mounted.

I think I will pull my seat as the front foam has crushed some with age. I plan to add a piece of carpet under the springs to stiffen up the seat as shown in an earlier post.
