Aftermarket Control Arm Question

Will aftermarket control arms (longer) move the front axle forward (back into the center of the wheel well)? I don't like the way the lift moved the tire closer to the rear of the fender. If they will move the axle do I need the uppers, lowers or both?

There is no problem driving or steering the truck... I just don't like it visually.

I'm sure there are others but heres one http://www.solidsteel.biz/ . It seems that the lower arm being longer rotates the axle forward, if I'm thinking right, and there's no guarantee of that

dt pro fab is what my help,longer by 1/2 inch,i'm eyeing them with my KORE recon come summer

I actually bought the DT Pro Fab arms before I bought my KORE Pace (Recon) system. After jacking up the truck as high as the KORE system was going to lift the front, and doing some careful measuring, I found that the DT arms would move my axle too far forward. Not sure what lift they are intended for, but if the suspension was compressed with the longer arms I figured that the tire would be driven into the front bumper. I'd make some careful measurements before buying. I had to pay a $60 restocking fee when I returned them.



I understand the need for restocking fees in some cases, but I don't really believe that it costs $60 to put the box back up on the shelf.

After I read this thread (about 3 years ago) I bought DT's 1/2" Forward

Control arms. They re-centered the wheel in the wheelwell after I added leveling springs. They were the only company offering them at the time. They use polyurethane instead of the OEM junk rubber for the bushings which help handling. I love mine and would buy them again.
