Thanks, TDR Staff
i dont know as much as u guys that have been doing this for awhile, but on my gs(85 suzuki motorcycle) it is not only the size of the port,it is the shape which makes air speed and how it points towards the intake. my gs is bored to a 1428 from a 1115 and with the garrett turbo and 30 lbs of boost it made 328 on the dyno, but before it made this the guy that works on my head actually made the hole smaller but reshaped it,then started making it bigger, so what i am saying is this the same method with a diesel or is it u just make a big whole. cause i know that on my bike that we try to keep as much meat in the head so it dont break thru, then use the epoxy to build the speed... sorry i know this isnt a scooter sight, but im trying to understand how the head works on the diesel,. . thanks anyhow for listing... .

Who out there is really interested and would be serious about an aftermarket cylinder head for the cummins??

I had a conversation today with one of the leading head manufactures, and while talking about another project I have going on, We started talking about the cummins head and got some really good info, and also they have been kicking around the idea of making one. The only thing stopping them was the unknown of how big of demand a head would actually have.

Now I'm waiting on some more info from them, and gathering some info for them as well.

Before everyone starts asking how much this is going to be,,, we have no idea yet,,, will it be for everyone no, will it be a good product... . OH YEAH!!!!!!

Anyone that is seriously interested in this and would like more info feel free to contact me or email me and for the people that will sit on the fence and wait till the last minute I will post info as I get it.

Only bad think about the aftermarket heads is that for the price they will run, they will probably only be used by competition people, and the pullers don't allow them, in most of the classes. They could do what the jetski market did, and make a cheater head. It looks stock, but it isn't. :)

Nobody in diesel competition would ever think of doing such a thing! Bending the rules or cheating... . NEVER! :-laf :p

modded head

well i just got the comformation that the new common rail and earlier models head is ready, im talking about the new intake design that allows for complete air flow to ALL cylinders, and its offered in ported and polished, or stock configuration, the bottle neck in the beginning of the cylinder head is were most of the lack of flow is comming from, so far it has yielded over 150+ cfm increase, over a ported head alone. im putting pictures together for this weekend. and prices too. Oo.

cool cant wait to see some pics.

Ditto. Prices too. I think if they can approach the price of a ported replacement head it will sell. As long as it uses better material (high nickel as mentioned earlier) and more of it in the right places to reduce cracking, my new 12v o-ringed head might be on eBay...

BBD

BBD, It's ok. . I just had to get rid of a woman that was built for speed (0-C). . Definitely top of the line in performance. Great at dialing in the cam and headwork. . Supercharged as well. . Just too expensive to maintane.

The thought of a new head keeps me positive. Hopefully it will flow much better and also be more dependable allowing for more continuous use. Never know, there could be room for more boost as well. . We'll see. .
