Who out there is really interested and would be serious about an aftermarket cylinder head for the cummins??

I had a conversation today with one of the leading head manufactures, and while talking about another project I have going on, We started talking about the cummins head and got some really good info, and also they have been kicking around the idea of making one. The only thing stopping them was the unknown of how big of demand a head would actually have.

Now I'm waiting on some more info from them, and gathering some info for them as well.

Before everyone starts asking how much this is going to be,,, we have no idea yet,,, will it be for everyone no, will it be a good product... . OH YEAH!!!!!!

Anyone that is seriously interested in this and would like more info feel free to contact me or email me and for the people that will sit on the fence and wait till the last minute I will post info as I get it.

Zach

Sir you have me up on the edge of my seat with my fullest attention... ... .

Speak on brother!

Oo. i do not and will not offer the zz manifold, ours is totally different, and made as a directbolt on kit, the head is ported or not, and the manifold is attached ready for install, no machine work or any alterations needed

I'm taking this as it's a current factory cylinder head, stock plenum machined off, ported, with a bolt on plenum?

I'm looking for a aftermarket head cast for 'special needs'. One that can take extensive porting past what's safe with a factory head. Cracking in the chambers, leaking coolant passages, would be a non-issue with a casting with more meat and controlled coolant flow. Something with awesome numbers higher up.

By no means knocking what your offering,if I guessed correct, but the thread is about an aftermarket head... .

Thanks RD

I will keep everybody informed as more info comes in. For the ones that have sent me messages thank you for your interest

your kidding right .....

No I don't think he kidding. I wouldn't want a timing Belt on my B series either. Good lord, just think if the physics here..... I don't care what a Honda can do. The camshaft in that weighs as much as my lifters.

belts will take harmonics out of the valve train. A cummins has a big need to do that. . its still not needed, a good aftermarket head with push rods will flow more air then you can beleive. 400 cfm is not hard with a 24 valve style head, if the head is cast for this. the chevy Trailblazer head , will flow this with minimual work, if you don't worry about wet flow. 400cfm will get you 1200 hp with 20 psi of boost

Wow... Harmonics out of the valvetrain..... Sounds like a bunch of crap to me.

Cause lord knows at 7,000rpm on an engine designed for 3,000rpm..... Nothing is going to break. It couldn't be pushing past the limits of the design... . NOOO... that can't be it...

Lets see... harmonics in the valvetrain... . Hey should we play the pushrods like a walking bass?

I have good CM push rods , if you would like, along with a lot of other neat valvetrain parts. I would even go as far as build a compleat copy of any motor I have ever built in conjunction with RayMac . anyone want to step up to the plate . 6000 rpm plus , every part the same or better

Comp... . That's cool, but there are plenty of us who don't need RayMac to build that engine. It's been proven a properly balanced and blue printed bottom end will almost outlive the valvetrain. I believe there is a post in here somewhere... 7700rpm.

Funny thing is... back on subject... . if a new head was devolped and built that flowed twice what the stock head does, even ported, my suspicion... . We wouldn't need the RPMs for more than a way to spool the Even LARGER turbos that guys would be running. Maddog wouldn't be pushing 116psi. I'll make a SWAG that if Maddog had the head that this started out about, something that flowed that smoothly with the CFM rating like that, his Peak Boost levels would drop below the 80psi mark. Boost is just proof of restriction.
