I'm tired of changing bulbs and melted circuit boards. What are you guys using? I've looked at the whole led replacement tail light, and just going with bulbs and resistors.
I haven't been able to find much in the way of reviews on either route.

I crunched one rear on my 2005 plastic only got damaged. Got one from Geno’s. Installed looks fine and works.

Good LED bulbs today have an integrated resistor.

I wouldn't buy an outdated design, no matter who sells them. Resistors are just another point added for wiring trouble.

I'm not judging the quality of a certain bulb or seller, it is just a general point of view.

Has anyone used the bulbs from underground lighting? Only slightly more expensive than buying the bulb and the resistor separately, but less of a pain to install.
Even if I buy the Dorman circuit board and Depo tail light lense from Geno's, I'm looking at about $280 or so for the rear tail lights. I don't mind spending the money, but I'd like to be sure it's going to be well spent. Curious as to how long I could expect the bulbs to last.

I have looked at various LED replacement tail lights. Most have left me cold. I don't feel many give off enough light. I have noted in traffic that often there isn't much difference between the running light and the brake light. I have seen nothing of quality in the aftermarket.
I decided to just keep running the original incandescents and using a quality Sylvania replacement bulb. I changed the tail light bulbs about 2 months ago. One was bad and the other was looking old. These were replacements for the originals being from 2009. Not to bad in my book.
