Have you R&Red yours?

When I tried to use the crutchfield car guide it was flakey as to what was availible.

Crutchfield is wrong for the rear doors, they are 5. 5 or 5. 25 I believe, the 6. 5 are to big and won't fit correctly. I did this in my 98 and was a bit upset over the crutchfield sites info. The 03's are the same size as well.

I want to replace the factory tunes, but all 1. 5 DIN units seem pretty gawdy.

Do people really watch movies while driving? I hope not. Cell phones are bad enough. I was on my motorcycle and got t-boned by a guy talking on his cell.

i just re-built my stereo system, and the front doors came stock with 6"x9" spearkers, and the rears were 5. 25" ones. Yes I too made the Infinity system and It has nothing on the new system. I choise the 1. 5 DIN to replace the factory radio, I wanted a full height radio to fit back in the factory space with no spacers or adapter needed. Their isn't a large selection of 1. 5DIN to chose from, I went with the Pioneer P77. It works great for me and look very nice in the truck. I also installed a 12 disk cd changer under the back seat, along with a 500Wamp. For speakers I went with 6. 5" Polk Audio component speakers in the doors, and 5. 25 polks in the rear. If I had to do it again, I would use the 6. 5" speakers for both places. I am very pleased with the sound and performance of the new system, the radio makes the truck look new or more up to date. The install was easy and I did buy thru Crutchfeild, great place to do business.

Hey Y - Are those Polk speakers you have just a simple plug in? My right front door speaker crackles alot and I need to do something about it. Factory Infinity in there now.

I just got a new Summit catalog. It has a nice 1. 5 DIN stereo from Pioneer, and a 12 Disc changer. No fancy foo-foo screens. There are some 6x9s on the opposite page.

I should be able to do the whole package for six bills.

I Would go with Crutchfield on the head unit in order to get the adapters and wiring with no hassles. I usually don't like ebay but it would be wise to find a deal on speakers to save some $$$. Most speaker kits will come with new wires which should be all you need for them. Crutchfield marks up their equipment just slightly to compensate for their adapters and other niceties. (I've found it's well worth it though. )

When I changed out my factory speakers in my 02, I went with 6x9's in the front and 6. 5's in the back. The 6. 5's fit without any modifications.

Dumb question, those of you with the factory Infiniti speakers, did you go with component speakers, and if so did the tweeter fit in the factory A-pillar without any modifications? That's about the only thing that's stopping me now, I really want to replace all 6 of mine without cutting into trim.

On the 2002 2500 the rear speakers are 5 1/4 speakers. You can fit a 6. 5 but you need to nibble out some metal to make it fit... I just finish my sound system last week so I know for a fact. If check the application guide on cruthfield, it's wrong... ...

Let me know if you have any questions. I did alot of research on this.

My system sounds incredible.

It's a cover for a connector. I assume it for testing. . It is a great plase to wrap extra wire and stash behind this cover...
