If the paint is pealing just toss it.

There is no need for the plastic vanity cover.

Its there to make the engine pleasing to the eye.

How much horsepower do you think an aftermarket valve cover would give you?
Nice truck and loved the picture loop but I could not see video. Do you have any wins with the sled pulls? I'm interested in converting my truck when warranty is up, as to your question on the valve covers I don't think you will see an increase in HP but the aluminum cover looks better than the stock. ;)

HaHa I was jk about the hp. I've seen some really nice painted covers but I really like the hellmann. My truck is TERRIBLE at sled pulling. If your focusing on that ask jwilliams. I just sled pull for fun on the weekends.

Same here, I got tired of removing it when wrenching...

86'ed it years ago

Who makes that valve cover Matt400? Is it available to purchase?
Thats a Cummins part for Marine and H/D truck application. It took a small mod to the vent system to make it work. It comes silver and I painted it Chrysler Orange.

I left it on for several thousand miles and all seemed ok except for one thing. .

The blow by tube was always unusually dry, much more so than the factory set up and I also noticed a little oil usage.

I took it back off and now no oil usage + the vent is now damp.

I am thinking that cover doesn't vent as well as the Huge hole in the OEM cover does with the fleetguard part on top. If you want to learn more about this cover with part numbers and all, check out this thread:

I think it just needs a better breather, maybe cap the back and retrofit the fleetguard breather somehow.
