Recently cancelled the Chrysler Warranty, after realizing what a

sham it is. Sham the stealership offered was a $100 deductible, 7 year 100,000 (of course is backdated to Original Sale 09/00, I just bought the truck (02/02), so in reality was only about 43 months, 60,000 miles), cost over $3,500 what a rip

After investigating aftermarket warranties thoroughly, Warranty Gold offer the best deal and local shop's recommended it for their easy to get things done and no problems with them paying up for failures or performance issues, dealership only deal with failures.

I got a a Warranty Gold plan "Diamond" bumper to bumper (even covers my tires from road hazards/flats), zero deductible, 5 year (from the day I paid for warranty), 150,000 miles (110,000 left, 40,000 on speedo) all for a the low price of $2,370, plus a added bonus I can take to whoever I prefer, like a local Cummins Diesel specialist.

If you by a used or even a new vehicle, just make sure you read the fine print. It could save you a lot of grief and frustration. :)

RAMSTER21,

You have 60 days to cancel the warrantygold arrangement without cost to you. You may want to do that and here's why:

I recently purchased their diamond plan for 7 years, 70,000 miles FROM the date and MILAGE of my used truck. The truck had 15,700 or so, so that meant it was warranted until it had 85,700 miles. See the difference?

Also, the total price for my warranty was $1470. (they first offered it at $1700. even, but negotiated down through three steps like buying a car). I know that this isn't exactly the same as your deal, but thats a big money difference.

I do believe that warrantygold offers a superior product and know that they pay quickly and easily to any repair place you chose. I think, though, that you might want to read the fine print regarding performance modifications. That print allows for them to cancel the policy if you modify the vehicle in any way, and it allows for refusals to pay if you cannot show that you have followed the manufacturer's maintenance recommendations to the letter.

I chose to cancel the policy for reasons of my own, mostly due to the requirements for maintenance and the restrictions on modifications.

I do believe that a warranty could be tailored through their salespeople which would cover unusual circumstances and I may call and see about that. If it is a doable thing I'll make certain that the description of the deal stipulate my conditions.

It sounds like you have a place to take your truck who know how to work with warrantygold. That's good, and if I had that I may not have cancelled.

ONE TO STAY CLEAR OF

Another one to NOT consider is called "warranty by net".

After almost a week of waiting for a rep to look at the truck

(blown rear end) he agreed that a new unit was in order. One was ordered Through the the dealer and on the day it was to be installed the warranty company found a "used" unit two (2) states away. Needless to say since time was of the essence more than the cost of the warranty came from my pocket.

On another occasion I had to make a complaint to through the State Attorney General to get the repair paid for in full. There is more but I don't want to continue to bore you with my past complaints.

Above all - READ THE FINE PRINT and good luck! ! !

I'm sticking with Warranty Gold, like I said not for everyone, but a better option, cheaper, and more miles covered. Warranty Gold will atleast split the cost of a aftermarket Torque Convertor vs stocker. Dealership won't even do that. As far as Bombing, why mess with a great motor, I'm pleased with my Cummins engine. Even Chrysler\Cummins will void an aftermarket engine bombing, if they find out. I know that bombing is fun and its easy to get more power, but until paid in full, I'm not messing with it, besides maybe the Exhaust and gauges upgrades. It has plenty of power for my needs, I bought for the fuel mileage (nothing like 20mpg from a 3/4 ton 4X4) and durability. Thanks for all the good stuff that TDR provides, keep up the great job. :D
