Rear-End Wear?

New Gear lube specification

This is not bad, just got ya to look! :-D

So, I got to "test" out the Smarty this weekend at the local Dyno event. For the most part, i liked it, but definately felt weaker (on #9) than just with my stock software and my Comp on 5x5. Now, I left the Comp off with the Smarty loaded, as I was told it probably would gain me nothing if not hurt preformance gains. Fueled way past the stock software did, and that I liked very much so. BUT, it felt laggy compaired to the Comp on 5x5 from stop to go. Acceleration was much smoother and more controlable.

NOW... the "Aftermath"

I loaded the stock software back so i could give the programmer back to its owner, to only find out, my truck is a complete new beast. I dont know why it would change anything, but when I went back to stock, the software version on the smarty must have some tweeks to it, that is slightly different? Marco, can you let me know why, I am definately not complaining at all. The truck now idles smoother, the same smooth accelleration seems to have stayed, and has definately more power with Smartys stock software than with my original software. My wife even noticed the difference and she was sitting in the passanger seat.

So, my question is this, is the "stock" software that is on the smarty slightly different than what would have been on my 2000 truck stock?

bite your tongue :{ stock is stock :-laf anf that is final :)

Bob ol' buddy, do you know something we all dont know? :-laf

There is no doubt in my mind there is a difference, and I am curious to see if any of you have realized a difference after trying a smarty?

I'll admit, if I had the money, I would be selling the Comp and getting a set of larger injectors, as the guy that had this, loves it with his Jammer 3's.

Matt, I've heard your comment more than a few times.

all is good

Ok, i was just making sure I didnt have "smarty on the brain" or somthing! :-laf

I definately want one now though, but untill I can get some injectors, I will have to wait. :D

i felt the same thing when i downloaded the stock smarty setting also. i used to run the bullydog so i just chalked it up to the smarty having the correct stock setting and not bullydogs version of stock.

but i say again smarty stock setting is better than what i had before.

The "stock" software in the smarty is the newest available software at the time of production of the smarty. It is possible that you still have the software form 2000 in your truck and there were some improvments since them. That would explain why it is different after returning to "stock".

Just smile with your new "stock software" (free update) !

So, I am still confused as to why it acted like that Matt. I was surprised when you had said it was laggy with the #9 but way glad to get your voicemail after putting back to stock saying it was better than before. Did I miss the details somewhere? Why would it be worse with Smarty vs stock S/W when running with stock injectors?

Matt if you had put the smarty on level 8(no timing) and turned your comp box on you would've fallen in love and your clutch would've asked for a divorce TRUST ME :D

Exactly what I was gonna ask... ... . why didn't you load it up & run both. The Smarty only compliments the comp box & makes the truck feel smooth.

Like others have said, load up #8 and set the comp to kill. You will be blown away. The bottom end is very nice, but I think (seat of the pants feeling) that the top end is WAY insane. I think my truck goes from 75 to 90 mph in about 1 second. My wife drove it one day I she will now not drive my truck any more...

so has anyone ever seen more hp on a dyno with the smarty and a comp?

i guess my question has anyone spent the time on a dyno on all 9 settings... ... i would get 1 in a sec if i knew i would see more HP on the dyno or better ET's on the track.

but i do hear the truck drives a lot better with it

The Smarty has proven to extend your peak hp powerband making the engine stay at peak hp for longer periods of time... . alot longer. As far as dyno... . noone has tried sw2 software on smarty... ... just sw8 from what I've read. I can tell by seat of my pants that it is stronger for sure in sw2, but don't have the dyno sheet to prove it. I'm gonna dyno in June. You need a smarty for sure with that big turbo..... trust me..... it'll get it spooling way sooner & be way more fun to drive.
