With all the A-pillar pods going in for gauges, can anyone tell me where to get a can of agate spray paint? I hate to leave my pillar mount black!!

Thanks

Some people are going to tell you to take it to a professional body shop to match the paint. I personally had good luck with the 5 oz. spray can that you can purchase from any local Dodge dealer. IMO it matched very well. I believe the color code is LAZ.

Hers is the part number for the MoPar Spray Paint:

82201399

Code LAZ

Agate Interior

Comes in a 5 oz spray bottle, and should run around $8. 00.

Just finished the process of painting mine and am trying to work out the wiring stuff. Color matched mine perfectly, but you will need to purchase some Plastic Parts Cleaner and Plastic Adhesion Promotor to prep the unit first. Those last 2 items will probably run about $20. 00.

Hi Max thanks for the warning..... Could you tell us where to get the cleaner and the Promotor???

Thanks

Any Auto Body Supply Store should carry it.

I used PPG--kinda' like that stuff, here are the part numbers:

Plastic Cleaner and Prep--SXA1004

Plastic Adhesion Promoter--SXA1050

I washed a-piller with warm soapy water first--let dy, then used the Plastic cleaner--spray it on and it will evaporate--I did this 3 times and wiped off excess. Then sprayed Promoter on lite coat first time--wait 5 to 10 minutes for it to "flash"off then I repeated process again with a heavyer coat--wiat 5-10 minutes to flash--don't wait longer than 20 minutes then painted. Thats all there is to it.

Can't Get the paint in CA.

Well I went to the local Dodge dealer, and we looked up the number for the paint and i told him to oder it, and I left about two hours later he called back and told me that he can't sell it to because they won't ship it to California Because of the EPA laws??? So I went to ace hardware

And bought three cans of paint and It matches close enough for me!! I can't stand all the Environmental Freaks out there:mad: !! let me know if you can get it! and Where and I'll oder some and have them UPS it to me!!

thanks

Adam

Adam, if you want some, I will be more than happy to get it for you and ship it out there to you. Both of us will probably get sent to jail for illegal contraban:D

Same thing for the Ruger 10/22 extended magazines--you guys in the PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF KALIFORNIA can't get them either--fire Barbara Boxer and the rest of those wackos!

Price for it is $8. 50 per can plus 6. 5% sales tax.

Email me if you want it.

Max

PS--You couldn't get paint--just think of those 4 poor brave fireman that couldn't get water.

Well I'll e-mail you after I get the rest of the problems with the truck worked out!!

thank you

Adam- From PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF KALIFORNIA

:( LOL:D that's funny

Sorry to jump in your thread, but does anyone have the part number for the Camel/Tan (K9) interior trim paint?

Rusty

Rusty,

If you're trying to match the A-pillar I believe you want the Camel and not the dark tan.

Camel—04864437

Dark Tan—05003524AA

Wow, that was close! I received my gauge pod today and was going to paint it tomorrow.

I have the K9 Camel/Tan interior, and I'd just like to double-check that the 04864437 is the proper color for the A-pillar before I use the can and can't return it.

There's no way it could be the 05003524AA Dark Tan, right?

Pull the fuse access door at left end of dash or pull ashtray. Hold either next to A pillar and then decide—are they the same color or not?

I think you'll call the dash and its attachments Dark Tan and the A pillar Camel .

Let me know what you find.

Californin nuts

Adam, I live in lancaster ca. and got mine from local dealer. if you need help with it il talk to the manager john and get you some up there. mike:)

Kalifornia Paint

Just got my pillar yesterday, Doug at ADT sent me out a can of agate to paint it. Turns out my interior is Misty Gray. Local dealer in San Diego had one in stock. I think your dealer was just being lazy... :(

Your welcome to the can of Agate paint I have. Drop me a E-mail

WOW... Camel ... Tan. . ????? Is there something different with this color interior? I have the agate interior and plan to buy the agate spray. Lets see if we can make any sense of this. My dash, fuse panel cover and a pillar are GRAY. The front trim fascia that surrounds my gauge cluster and outlines the front of the dash is a very, almost black, gray. If I order agate, it should match the a-pillar, right??? What is Misty Gray as mention further back in this post?

A-Dodgezilla

I just purchased Agate color interior paint at my local Dodge Dealer here in the Central Valley area. They had to order it but I did get it. I also think that your dealer is lazy!!!! $8. 00 a can, 3 days wait... . If I were you I'd fire a shot across the bow of your dealer!!!!! Probably another fine 5 star dealership that DC is so proud of.....

just my luck! the Man tryin to keep my down!!

I think I'll go vist that parts guy again!!

I went in there about a year ago, he probably dosn't work there any more!!:p I spent 2 hours trying to match the paint And I came preety dang close:confused:

thanks
