aggravating problem

Hi All:

I have recently developed an issue that is a PIA in my 94 CTD. Maybe someone can help. My cruise control disengages when going downhill ONLY when I am pulling my boat. It never happens when driving empty. I threw a new brake lamp switch at it and nothing changed.

Also, I don't know if it is related, but I have a fluid leak that appears to be coming from the PS and vacuum pump area. Can this cause the cruise to act this way?

An intermittent short in the trailer cable/wiring sending 12vdc to the stop lamp circuit and back feeding making the truck think you are hitting the brakes ?.

I would agree, rewire the boat trailer!!!
