Man, this thing is purdy. Tried to get the wife to let me use it as a center piece on the coffee table... ... but no go:( Looking forward to putting some miles on it tomorrow.

I ordered mine, they sent me a pump instead  but will get a steering gear shipped to me ASAP. Let me know how well yours does. Mine is going on a 2001.

What't the cost? I have a 99 that I would like to replace the steering sector on. Keep us posted on how it work and how much trouble it was to install.

Experience

I would really like to hear of some experience with this or similar product... Moby truck has a bit of the wanders and I would really like to get the steering nice and tight. Driving my wife's Jetta really makes Moby seem like a pig on ice.

Thanks

I like it

I have had the AGR box for about year now and like it a lot, didn't want to attempt the adjustment in the TSB but it works fine and does look good direct replacement bolt up easy install

I have had mine on since last apr, and have put around 80k on it. It is holding up a hell of alot better than the stock one. Thier pump for our trucks is a higher pressure pump than our stock one. I think you can get them for 170 or so. I will be adding one to my truck probably this summer, when I can stand the stock one no longer.....

Briar hopper,

Was this unit worth the money? What kind of problem were you having that prompted you to purchase this unit?

Thank,

Wayne,

I haven't received it yet. They sent me a pump by mistake, instead of thegear box I ordered.

My steering gear has been leaking for thousands of miles, from the "side plate" . I simply didn't have time to fool with it, as it's out of warranty. I've spent the past 3 months searching for a good rebuilt unit, or even a new one. Chances are, if I get this one rebuilt again, it'll leak again. $200 to rebuild it, versus $374 to try this AGR unit. Worth a try. A new stock unit, by the way, is over $600 at the Dodge stealer. None avaliable for a 2001 at AutoZone or NAPA or CarQuest, or anywhere else I've looked.

Well, truck drives nice down the road and no slop in the steering anymore. I had a loose sector shaft (bad bearing?) and have an AGR box on my Bronco with great results so am giving them a go. Install was straightforward but their pump moans and groans like nobodys business. Guess I'll see how their customer service is like tomorrow... ... ...

AVOID THAT REBUILD LIKE THE PLAGUE SLED PULLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, just get your money back, or throw it away when it gets there. You will end up doing that anyway. Save yourself the hassle of puting it on, taking it off, puting it on, taking it off, puting it on, taking it off, puting it on, taking it off, puting it on, taking it off, puting it on, taking it off,... ... ... ... ... ... ... . and just buy a new one to start with. I made that mistake and was sent to rebuilt he11 for it. I was #@$%! #@$%! for a long time. I am over it now. Can't you tell? :) :{ :{

Great.

Just talked to another GLTDR menebr, he is on his third AGR box right now, says the first two were not any better than the old box. And he is not happy with this one.

In limbo, once again.

Have you guy's called AGR ? you need to call them, they make a special box for our Rams I don't think it's on there site, I had to wiat a while for one to be built for mine.

Well, in my case, if their engineering department is like their shipping department (I got sent a pump by mistake) then I'm wondering why I bothered calling them...

Maybe AGR was bought out by Majestic Turbo? :D They're a Texas company , too... .

But if Scott is having good luck with his, on a lifted Ram with big tires, one has to wonder what's going on.

Well, I'm happy with the steering box so far. Like I said, I've had one on my Bronco for 4 years now and its topnotch also. The only thing I've had a problem with is the pump. I called 4wheelparts where I bought it and they ordered me up another one. Guy on the phone said that they have had a couple of returns on the pumps for the cummins. They have a separate part number for the cummins box and pump.

Where to buy

I've called AGR direct and there price is 445. 00 + shipping. I called Summit Racing and there price is 349. 95 but is 5-6 weeks out for delivery.
