Coming to work this morning and going around a curved exit off the highway, my Air Bag light came on for a few seconds, then went off. Whats up with that?

Any ideas?

Hate that air bag thing anyway, always afraid that it will someday blow up in my face driving down the highway.

clock spring might be failing ???? it's a very common issue on our rigs. . mine did that and then the spring broke and the light stayed on

Even on the old 1997 trucks?

I thought that the Clock Spring problem was only with the 2000+ trucks. I never heard of one of them going bad in the old 12 valvers.

So what happens if it breaks?

So if it breaks, does it mean that the air bag won't work or will it affect the steering and controls on the directional?

The dealer told me that the air bag just won't work with the broken clock spring. I had both of mine fixed, I dont' remember the exact cost but it wasn't much. The Ford had to be replaced twice.

Yep it's the clockspring.

The wifes truck was doing the same thing about a week ago. Took it to the local "Stealer" and they had to do the Clockspring recall for the second time.
