2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Air Bag Light

My Air Bag Light on the dash has come on & off and currently is staying on. My factory manual doesn't specifically address the purpose of the light. Any ideas on what issues can turn this light on?

probably a loose wire at the bag in the steering wheel, I just installed a new wheel and the factory plug to the bag is about as hokey as can be, they have a mickey mouse sticky pad with a zip tie hold it in, yours is probably loose, unhook your batts and pull the center bag you will probably see the yellow plug hanging loose. replace the sticky stuff and it should stay in.
