2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Air bag light

I've got a 97 2500 Cummins/auto and when I changed the batteries I noticed the Air Bag light is on and will not go off. It's been about 3 months now and I'd like to solve the problem. I've been reading about the clock spring in other forums but the horn and cruise works fine. Any solutions?

You need to start by using a scanner capable

Of accessing the system

Too much money for airbag system parts to guess
