2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission air bag light

the air bag light on my 94 is on,and also we get a beep about every 30 sec. any ideas???

If the light stays on, it indicates a fault in the system. On mine (99) the manual says you have to use scan tool to determine trouble. Bg

With 100k on the truck I'd bet a weeks pay that you need a "clock-spring" a reel of printed circuit like cable behind the steering wheel.

Dodge had a recall on the clock spring. Air bag won't work in an accident, my cruise control also dead.

so if it is the clock spring and there was a recall on it does that mean it is free to get fixed? or since I have almost 300,000 miles does the recall not apply?
