Since airbags have killed more kids in the last five years than hand guns have, I am wanting to disable the #@%^&* Things...
The passanger side can be turned off with the key switch but no way for the driver side.
I checked the fuse block on left end of instrument panal but the fuses are covered with a yellow plastic guard and so for have not been able to get them out without breaking things...
Has any one else had a problem with this?
Any information would be appreciated
Thanks in

Bob,
Good to see another Alaskan on here, welcome to the TDR.
Air bags do kill young kids when they are in the passenger seat, but they have been known to save big kid's lives when they sit behind the steering wheel, I would only turn off the passenger one when there are children or short (under 5 foot) adults sitting there. That is just my opnion.
If you really want it gone, just take the air bag out of the steering wheel and claim it was stolen if anyone asks. Air bag thieft is a big problem in the lower 48.

Bob, Just pull the fuses out with the yellow tabs until they stop. They won't come all the way out, but they are still disconnected. I do this when I'm off road all the time.

Several years back, my wife had a little Dodge Shadow car. On new years day, in the middle of the afternoon, a 16 year old kid ran a stopsign at a highway intersection and she pasted his little pickup dead center with that little car. She didn't have a seat belt on. She hurt her knee on the steering column when she was being tossed around, but that was it. If not for the air bag, it would have been REAL serious. I'd go with the above advice to just disconnect the passenger's side if you're worried about it.
