Great source for BHAF

Here's a link to a great source for BHAF, other filters, lift pumps, etc... .

I've ordered from them a few times and they always have great price and service. Don't think you can order online, you have to call them.

Their current price on a Fleetguard AH 19037 is just $43. 74.

I just put mine on. Looks and fits great! I had to loosen the battery and slide it all the way back to get it to fit though. It touches the underhood lining when closed, so the gap between the fender and hood increased like and 1/8" or something. I'm going to see if I can relieve it tomorrow.

I do think it need a cheap plastin shroud on the bottom, front, and sides to keep big splashes of water from ruining the filter media. A prefilter I would think would be mandatory, something as a second line of defense agains water infiltraion and to extend the life of filter.

I actually had to remove my underhood lining. It was hitting on the hump right around the light. Once I removed the liner the hood closed fine. I slid my battery all the way back as well. I also noticed it is resting on the junction block where the battery cables connect to.

Kind of funny really, Guys with 04 and 03 trucks were buying hood silencers for their trucks, and I'm going and removing mine.

I had the regional rep for Outerwares here at DRC this week. I am ordering water resistant pre filters.

Greg... . Are all outerwears cover water resistant, or do you have to specify that. Reason I ask is I just recieved my outerwears last week and didnt ask for a water resistant one.

John

Johnny,

There is a specific Water Resistant pre filter. It retails for around thirty bucks. If that was the cost, you got the right one. Give me a call and I can check the part number.

Greg... Thanks, I will. I think I paid about 26 dollars or so. I am out of the country right now and it arrived while I was away. When I get home I'll give you a call. I'll also be watching for your air intake setup. I really like the idea of having an intake tube designed for the BHAF with provisions for the IAT sensor. Right now I have mine zip tied to the outside of of the top elbow. In fact, let me know if you need me to test one out for your Northeast customers :-laf

if you look back to page one you will find the part number for the outerwares prefilter. It is water resistant, sprayed a bunch on mine worked great, and it is reusable. The airflow sensor won't do anything other than set off you check engine light if it is not mounted somewhere between your filter and turbo. If you go to my pics you can see mine, simply drilled a hole in the elbow and put it through. The soft rubber sealed up around it great. Did the same with the filter change thingy for no reason other than looks. I don't actually belive it does a thing or is reliable.

i now have my IAT sensor mounted in my bhaf system... i previously had it attached to the battery tray with one screw, but now it is mounted in my first rubber elbow... i drilled a hole in it and popped the sensor in... the hole was tight and the shape of the sensor, the little bulb part where the oring seals in the factory box kinda pops through the rubber elbow now and it is a snug fit... i think it would stay on it's own there, but for now i put some zip ties on it to keep it in place until i come up with something i like better [i went through several steel section mounting pieces for the IAT and i didn't like them, this seems to work best for me for now]

[pictures to come soon on my mounting of the iat]
