I have had my Air Bulldog hood for a few years now. It was originally on my Emerald Green '97, but I had it repainted and put it on my Intense blue '98. Glad I had Doug paint the underside black (cheaper to repaint only the top).

It's been a great product, including weight savings for racing. I consider it to be the 'showpiece' of the Pavement Princess.

Anyway, I'm pretty much incompetant when it comes to posting pics (and many other things as well, lol), but would like to get folks to show their hoods. I know some have had custom work done, like ghost flames. There's even a rare 3rd gen hood out there which I would like to see.

John Treibel, if you're lurking, show us that pic of BLCKOUT from DTT's brochure! If anyone has a pic of my truck, would you post it? Maybe I can get my promo pic to Byron and he could post it for me...

Unfortunately Rhonda, my buddy Rob who helped me re-size and post virtually every pic I posted on this BB as well as the NW BOMBers BB, and who also helped me out with a million other things, is no longer with us. :{ :{ Therefore, I did read (finally) this thread but cannot accomodate your request.

Besides, If you saw the condition my truck was in right now you wouldn't want a pic of it anyway.

I think it can be or is a full functioning hood. Also available is a cold air system to get that forced air to your inlet.

At least if I remember correctly.

Dave

Yes it is fully functional. Along with the hood, the airbox is modified with a "snorkel" type tube that mates flush to the opening on the bottom side of the hood. My engine bay isnt to clean atm but I'll see if I can take a picture and post it tomarrow.

It does look like the nostrils are solid in the pic but its actually a woven screen, I'll get a closer pic of that too.

Rumors have it Doug has this business for sale and if I am not mistaken there was a post pulled by the moderators about it. Anyone in the know have any idea if they are still being made and/or if he ever got the third gen hood done???... ... . Andy

I'm glad this thread got revived! I just can't seem to keep up these days...

John, I feel for you buddy. Rob Hanson was a very highly respected and admired individual, the type you don't meet every day. I'm sorry for the community's loss, and especially you (his best friend).

That being said, I'll get back on track. On its worst day, John's truck makes other nice trucks drool. Does someone have the technology to go to nwbombers.com and copy his avatar? That pic is still used as an ad for DTT. BTW John, did you ever fill that frame Jason made you? ;)

The rumor is true that the Air Bulldog hood business is for sale. Doug has had some health issues, and has been told he can no longer do this work. He's a wonderful man, who has made an outstanding product.

Yes, the third gen design was implemented, but only on one truck because of Doug's situation. The second gen hoods go for about $1200. I bought mine mostly because it's the best looking, best made after-market hood out there (and is lighter than stock), but also for the functional ram-air system. Mine does not function that way with my twins, but still funnels cool air right over them while driving.

Anyone interested in the hoods or business can call Doug directly at (208) 232-2469.

I thought I saw one a few weeks ago down in the Auburn area, on a white truck. I gotta figure out a way to post a pic of my truck...

Rhonda. .

Thanks for the update and thats what I had heard also. If you have the image already on your computer resize it to a smaller size and then click manage attachments and attach it(it will tell you if the pic is too big) and when you hit enter it should come up. I use my Microsoft Photo Editor to resize my shots and just keep trying till they fit. If you want them posted or put into this thread drop me a PM and I'll send you a email address for me and do it for you... ... ... . Andy

So long as it's not them stupid "glue on scoops" that every one and their freaking mother has on their truck/suv/whatever. My GOD! It's like the Ricer F1 huge wing for trucks!

Functional hoods are best. other wise... ... .
