Posted awhile back about evaporator leak. Took advice from "Walt" and removed dash to do job myself. Was not that hard except for two problems of my own making. First I decided to be smart and leave the heater hoses hooked to the core and pull them out with the evaporator housing. This worked on the way out but the clamps would not go back through the firewall opening so I had to move them further down the hoses. I did succeed in leaving the hoses attached . The second problem is that I have very little air blowing out of the chest high (dash) vents but tremendous volume out the floor vents. I was very careful in assembling the two halfs of the housing to make sure all the gates worked. I missed something obviously but am in no hurry to take things back apart again as it does cool and heat very well.

I am not sure if these trucks have vacuum hoses that control the gates, but had a similar problem when installing AC in my jeep. Found out I needed different jumper hoses to make the different vacuum lines attach properly. Also look at the connections on the heater control modules to make sure all are reconnected. Could also be a pinched vacuum line. Just a thought.
