Replaced - Compressor, Evaporator Core, Drier accumulator, also fan clutch. Freon not leaking and pressures are ok.

Now, when truck is at idle and a hot day, the Compressor will short cycle.

It will run momentarily, start to cool and then cutoff.

When driving at highway speeds, it cools like it was new.

I put the new clutch on & repair shop has done all of the other work.

When I went back to repair shop, and they checked out all of the above, he now wants to replace fan clutch again (thinks that it may be a bad one)!?

Where else should I be looking before doing the clutch again?

drop your fan motor and Gentley!! reach up and feal the face of the evap... bet it's loaded with dirt and crap... its really tight... . vacumm it out and then blow it with a air hose... I did mine this summer HUGE diff in air flow in the truck... . also clean the fan wheel it will be loaded with dirt, making it work harder and less efficient, shoot a little WD in the fan motor at the bearings and button it up. I also, had the guage face off and swabbed out the ducts and got most all the old dirt out of the system.

peace, b.
