On a recent trip to Cal. , the weird-shaped hose that fits in the turbo line at the input to the air cooler started blowing off. One day I was under the front of the truck several times trying to get the clamps to hold. The hose is about 2 1/2 - 3 inches diam. on the down-line from the turbo and about 3 1/2 - 4 inches at the input to the cooler. The small end is the one that kept blowing off. The T-bar clamp just would not hold it. It seems as if the hose has stretched or something. I finally wound up triple-clamping that end with regular worm-screw clamps and that held ok till I got back home. Anyone ever run into this problem?

It's not unheard of. You can either replace the boots at the ends with an aftermarket type (I think Piers has them) or clean the downpipe real good, and the inside of the boot, spray a little hair spray on the outside of the downpipe and then reconnect. The hair spray will act as a light glue.

If you want to get real fancy there is a complete set of silicone replacment hoses and stainless steel clamps available.

The hose kit replaces all the boost hoses (turbo to intake horn) and all the radiator/heater hoses. Take a look in my readers rig section to see pics.

They are not cheap. . but very nice looking. Several vendors have them.
