Hi Everyone,

I'm going to be ordering my Truck this next week and trying to get my papers in order of what I want on it. It's basically going to be loaded, but I have a question for those that have the SLT Plus 2500 out there. I'm see where I can choose the Air Dam on the 4aDodge web site, but is this something that is included in the SLT Plus package or not? I'm guessing it's not since it's a choice that comes up. Now the big question is: What is the purpose of this?

Thanks, Michael

I have one on the truck now after a bo-bo and a new bumper. When I bought it there was not one. I can not tell any difference of handling or fuel mileage at all. I guess it makes it look a little better. I like it with it for 25. 00 Kind of racey looking and neat I guess. mho I would spend the 25 and get it especially if I were ordering. Some may save it and put the 25 toward cab lights or something else.

If you get the plastic air dam, you could mount one of my air DARN's on it!:D

It's a stainless plate which bolts right onto the factory dam. They only cost $40 and dress up the front end quite a bit. The best part, they are exclusive to TDR members, so we can spot each other easier.

Do a search in Products/Accessories for the word "DARN" (title only) for more info. /pictures.

The 95 I had they forgot to put one on. The others I have had have them. Some guys knock them off going through brush. My son took the one on his 99 off when he put his grill guard on. He notices know difference. I heard they are suppose to circulate air better. I don't think they do nothing but just looks.

The air dam creates a low pressure area behind it which will increase the air flow thru the radiater. Unless you tow you probably won't see a difference with the cooling systems we have. Sure made a difference in my 85 305ci chebby though.

I regularly tow 10000 lbs and I removed mine for the installation of lights. I had towed with it beofre I took it off and saw absolutely no difference in temps, performance or mileage what so ever. Boonsur... ... ... I'm still trying to figure out which air darn to order. My lights are oval and almost 3. 5" wide... ... ... . Still researching possibilities!
