Got a vacuum gage and checked it at the first place I could out of the vacuum pump. GOOD Vacuum. Checked it at last place under hood before it gos to the hard parts to get at. NO Vacuum. Half-split method of troubleshooting found that I'd missed a elongated hole that was hidden by a holding type device just at the back edge od the hood area. Placed some tape over it, and PRESTO it works!
