Air Dog 165 priming problem....Anybody got an opinion?

After a year of great performance, my Dog is very slow to prime at 1/2 tank of fuel. When the tank is full, it snaps to attention and gets to 28 psi by the time I let go of the ignition key. I've checked all tank connections and am starting to think I should get rid of the quick connect and go with a "babrbie"

Any thoughts would sure be appreciated!
