I am about to install an AirDog and will be removing the OE filter/heater assy. I am using Pro-ma DT5 fuel additive. My concern is the lack of a fuel heater when we go to Northern BC hunting. Sometimes temps can get to -25-30 celsius (O deg F). I don't know where #2 diesel is provided up north so I want to cover my ***. I know my present additive reduces Gelling but don't know to what degree. I see Racor makes an in-line fuel heater but am reluctant to go that route. What do you guys in the colder winter states use for an additive if you have an after market pump system? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have been using Stanadyne and have had no problems w/o a fuel heater. Coldest it has sat overnite has been -11 and truck started and ran fine... .

with my FASS (no heater) and stanadyne I have been good to -20F over night, no block heater.

Sounded like crap when It started but it started and ran fine.

As you long as you fill up periodically as you go north you will be getting locally climztized fuel..... The OE heater won't do you good with plugging the AD even if it was still installed. So I would just run your normal additive and try to get as much local fuel as you can where you are going. Maybe take 5 gals of kerosene with you to add if you get into a problem.
