I recently traded my '00 on an '04. 5 and left my Air Dog system on the old truck. With a few mods, my CR now pleads for a better fuel supply and I dont know what to get. I had a problem with my old Air Dog- I could never let the tank get below an eighth (on a new sending unit, too!). Even at a quarter tank, if I came to an abrupt stop, the pump would suck air. I know I followed all installation instructions exactly, and otherwise the system worked fine for the four years I had it. I did just use the factory draw tube. I am just wondering if anyone else had that trouble too? Maybe someone out there running an Air Dog an a CR could tell me whether or not they like it. I like the way an Air Dog operates otherwise, but I dont want to repeat my last one's problem! I suppose a Vulcan Draw Straw would fix that problem, or not? My truck has the external LP. Thanks for any input.

I have the AirDog 150 and have the same problem. Not when i suddenly stop just when I hit a red light for longer then 40 to 50 seconds going downhill my truck shuts off. dosent do it going uphill. Anything less then a quarter tank and im in trouble! Other then that the AirDog is good.

what?

i justa had a air dog 150 installed today! vulcan draw straw? where do you find it and how does it work? compared to the one provided by airdog?

so far........

so good. sounds a little obnoxious when key switches to on, but seems to run smoother, and also seems to have better throttle response. dont know if this is stemming from my brain or is in fact true. ran it to just under 1/8 of a tank, but did not dare to point it downhill or let it get down too low, not yet anyway. very happy. looking at vulcan pick-up line, though.

I have the airdog 100 and I put the vulcan draw straw on mine. If you get below 1/8 of a tank and your on a downhill slope for to long it will cut off. I put my draw straw towards the front of the main pick up tube to try to help it out. The tanks are so long that when you get low on fuel and you are on a downhill slope theres nothing to pick up, all of the fuel is in the front of the tank. If I can remember the factory had a bowl to help keep it from running out. Long as you weren't faceing downhill for to long. I try not to let mine get below 1/8 of a tank now. Good Luck
