air filter box

Help!!!



I went and put holes in my air filter box (uh... rather large ones, bigger that are over one inch diameter each) and now I'm getting a vibration noise during turbo spool up that i've isoated to the modified box.



Is there somewhere I can get an aftermarket box? I've only had the truck a year, its a 2001 model and already the little plastic nuts are stripped as well.

hhhmmm... . looks like he removed his old air box entirely... man thats a big air filter... maybe I could make a metal wireframe cage that holds the filter in place.

You don't need a cage for the filter. Unless you bounce your truck around A LOT! I used a couple of long zip ties to hold the filter snug (NOT TIGHT) against the reinstalled plastic nust and rubber grommets. No wear marks, no punctures, just a bunch of surface area.

My Stainless Steel version... ..... After a year of R&D and re-designing, I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. this is a picture of an old version. I dont have a picture of the latest ones. they are now made of Stainless Steel and do not have the slots in the sides. I hope to be selling them in about a month. they are a direct replacement for a Psychotty and reuse the hole and filter. or I will offer them with an AFE filter as well.
