I was a little bored today so I decided to check egt's. It is 105* here today and I felt this was perfect. My truck is a 2001 QC 4x4.
DTT complete update kit. 89% TC and VB. DDII's with DD Comp UFM. I have been running on level 3x3 So I can get an actual read on egt's. With the stock turbo I can peg 1500* on the guage easy.
Here goes,
With the stock paper filter, WOT for 30 seconds, I can hit 1450-80.
with the K&N in stock box I get to 1280* only.
with the BHAF I get to 1400*.
I tried this over and over. I was running up a 6% grade to the Joshua Tree National Park. The road is long and strait. I started at the same spot everytime and let her rip. The only reason I posted this is 120* with the K&N might not seem like much but, It kept me out of the forbidden 1300* zone. I thought for sure the BHAF was the best. Sometimes I guess Bigger isn't Better.
