Air Filter Help/Question!?

Hello all, while waiting for my EGT's to come down today, I popped the hood just to look around, and noticed the hose clamp that holds my AFE Filter on to the air tube had broken!!

The filter was still totally over the tube, but had cocked down a bit.

I am a little freaked out thinking about all the dirt that could have gotten in there!

Beyond changing oil and filter, and obviously getting a new hose clamp... what can or should I do??

How is the weather where you are? On a damp day there is very little dirt in the air. Besides if the tube was still on the pipe you didn't get any conataminants in there anyhow. To set your mind at ease take of the intake tube and see if there is any dirt/dust/grime on the inside of it, I'm betting not.

I agree, pull the filter and run a couple of q-tips or cotton swabs around the inside of the tube to check for junk.

I'll do that tomorrow, real question now, is... if there is noticeable dirt, is there really anything I can do?

No. Just clean the pipe out if you find anything in it. You could change the oil to ease your mind but there's really nothing you can do at this point
