I saw that AFE has a new race version of their filter system, but no pic or info on the website. But is there honestly enough difference between the stage 1 and 2 anyways? NEXT, my buddy is starting to sell a new filter system at work called Green. 5 layer woven cotton with a stainless wire mesh. He says you can stand on them they are so strong, because everyone else's mesh is aluminum. But I'm concerened about the filtration, the whole reason AFE came out with the 7 series filter. Any info or opinions? Sorry not likely to do a bhaf.

We have found similar results in our testing. Most guaze filters allow small particulates through and cause silicon levels to rise. In off road racing, dusty and silty conditions, it has been known for years that guaze is " No Bueno" and can help to eliminate competitors from finishing. This being our problem with the KORE truck, Kroeker will not run a guaze filter. He chose to run the stock airbox and filter. The Paper filter has always been known to filter better than anything else. The problem is the paper filter has too much restriction for high horsepower use. We tried a few sponge style filters with poor results. The filters get filthy in a few miles, although a dirty filter works better, it restricts airflow as it gets clogged. We decided to try an old TDR favorite, the BHAF. Now I am not sure if you have included this filter in your testing. I would be willing, just to see the results, to provide Dan Montegari with one of our Fresh air intakes. We do use the BHAF and before you rule it out, would like to see it included in his test. At DRC we understand that your choice to provide the best product for your customer is just that, your choice. I would like to offer you another choice for your loyal customer base. If you are interested please contact us at DRC, 866-361-1439. Just so you know, I am not against running a guaze filter. I have one in our 2wd DRW 03 Cummins. On the hwy it is fine. But where the pavement ends, we feel that there is only one choice.
