I've read where some of you have had problems with the replacement K & N filters, I had one in my 94 and 91 but they don't make one for the 2001 model yet, I don't want to cut a hole so the scotty system won't do, which is better, the K & N RE0880 or the Amsoil replacement if they make one for the 2001?

Caw, you'r opening a "bad can of worms" here. After reading all the posts about K&N and dirt on the turbo blades, and all the posts of people not having the problem, I tried it.

CASE: I drove for about 5 hours around a motorcross track (taking down stakes that held up track ribbon) this summer. When I got home the K&N was so dirty you could not even see the pleates. It was one solid piece of dirt. after I took it out, I check the turbo blades. They were clean as when the truck was new.

Then I cleaned the filter, let it dry for 24 hours, re-oiled it and put it back in. 10K miles latter I checked the turbo again and yes, it was clean, no dirt at all.

I guess that as long as you oil it, and seal it right, you will not have a problem.

I even used axle bearing grease to seal it this time, if it works on the KTM, it will work on the Dodge.
