Air Heater Relay

hey guys..... I noticed the relay on the wheel well drivers side has burned off posts. I hear it is the air heater relay??? and my local dealer has really not much clue. He did find a part # and says it has been discontinued.

Does anyone know the function of these posts and if an aftermarket or similar is available. I think it has to do with the "wait to start" light system???? Anyone set me straight?? thanks baron

I don't know for sure that the relay hasn't been discontinued, but my gut feeling is that your local dealer just hasn't really bothered to look very hard.



My experience with one local dealer here in Anchorage (Lithia Dodge) was that if it was pre-1994, they didn't care about it, and would always seem to come up with the answer "hmmm... I can't find a part number--that part must be discontinued". If I gave them the part number then they would magically find that the part was not in fact discontinued, and that they could easily order it for me.
