I just purchased a set of air horns with a large compressor and air tank setup. :D The compressor is rated at 15 amps and comes with a 20 amp in-line fuse. Directions say to wire to ignition switched 12volts. I wanted to tap into the blower motor, but it is only a 10 amp circuit. Anyone know where I can wire into 12V switched, 20 amps?? Can I do it another way?? How are you guys wiring up your compressors. Any help is appreciated. :D :D

use a relay. wire the compressor to the battery directally or to some other high amp always live power source. then hook up a relay to turn it on and off. most relays need like 0. 2A - 0. 5A to operate and can control like 50A. probably the easiest way i think

Relay

Definately use a relay. You don't want to try and draw 20 amps from anything that already has to power something else on the truck. Give the compressor it's own dedicated circuit, it and your truck's electrical system will be much happier.
