Air Horn install questions

I got a set of Hadley Ambassadors.

The questions are, what will they sound like if I mount one facing forward and one facing backward, anybody done this?



I'm mounting them on a platform bolted to the frame. On the outside of the frame, under the bed in the front corner passenger side.



With the body brackets and spring hangers etc. , one blowing north and one blowing south is about the only way I can see for it to happen.

Why are you going to mount them like that?



All of the TDR members that I've seen have them mounted on a bracket under the radiator. That's where I plan on mounting mine. Oo.

I'm mounting them there because I don't have room under the radiator.



So far I've knocked the air darn off twice as the truck's been lowered.

Without the trailer it's quite the road racer. Handles REAL WELL. Until the tires rub the fenderwells :--)

I can fit a 29 inch Hadley with a 8. 5 inch rectangular bell under the hood on the driver's side. I am sure I can fit one on the passenger side too.

Koa Man do you still handle/carry air horns that we talked about a couple of months back?



Think I might actually be getting ready to do mine?

That seems like a good alternative place to put them instead or the front. I will have to look into that spot cause my next project is a set of Grovers and that spot sounds like it would be easier then packing in the front.



BTW, that is a cool looking truck... And I usually don't like lowered trucks.

I like the lowered look. But it isn't practical for me. I mounted my air horns to the front for the cross member under the radiator. The bells are at the same height as the openings in the bumper. I don't think you would have a problem.

I mounted my air horns to the rear side of the cross member under the radiator. I made a custom bracket that mounted to existing holes. The airline gets routed directly into the cross member so there is no visible sign of it. The horns are well protected and are not visible unless you look up toward the fan.

I have my grover mounted crosswise behind the front bumper. It is about 30" long w/ a 6-8 inch bell. I had to take the bumper off to get it in there, but I like it because it's out of the way and safe from getting knocked off. The only downside that I have found is that the horn will fill up with water if I go blasting through any standing watter with the passenger side wheel. A good blast clears it right out though.

How does it sound that way? I was planning on mounting my airtank in the same spot with the horns on the opposite side too keep the line short.

kchristopher; You'll have to type louder as the last thing I heard clearly was the horns. The way mine are mounted the line is about 24 inches from the solenoid to the tee and then 13 inches to each horn.



Koa Man; thanks for the pics. I had put so much time in building the bracket/platform that I had to use it. Also, how high do you jump if you're working on the engine and someone hits the horn button?
