Air tanks?

I'm just not getting anyone's attention with the puny stock horn;)

I've looked at posts from the archives, but I have not found the answers to these questions:

I've looked at a set of Hadley Bully's at Camping World. $250 + $87 installation. ( I was unable to talk with anyone for more details)

1. Where is the best mount location? I don't go off road.

2. Are these activated with the regular steering wheel horn?

3. Are the Hadley's a good choice?

4. Is this a competitive price? If not, please provide other sources. I don't want to invest more $$ than what I've shown.

Thanks for any help.

Email "ToolmanTimTaylor" he has a sweet Hadley setup with the compressor, tank and horns all mounted up front behind the bumper, i saw it and loved it. He posted pics awhile back, maybe he has them and can send them to you.

IMHO

If you are a PC (president's club) member, you will save. It is worth the $10 to join.

1. Where is the best mount location? I don't go off road.

Answer: I mounted the horns on the cross bar right behind the front bumber. Only had to drill one hole. I put the compressor in front of the left battery and the tank on the fender support behind the front left wheel.

2. Are these activated with the regular steering wheel horn?

Answer: The instructions tell you to tap into the horn wire to activate. All four horns work together untill you run out of air and the factory horns take over.

3. Are the Hadley's a good choice?

Answer: That is a matter of opinion. Another Ram Runner has Grovers and some say the Hadleys are louder. I think the combination sounds a little like a diesel locomotive.

The bottom line, you WILL get attention when you sound the air horns.

:D

hadleys

i've got the hadley bullys. don't go off-road so horns are mounted to the cross member under the radiator. compressor is

up on my JRE heat shield(by what would be the stock air box).

got the tank on the frame rail under the pass. seat. ran all hoses and wiring thru the frame rails. a buddy helped me--really neat install. took about 3. 5 hrs. BUT lot of BS'ing goin' on too.

next question: r they loud? in a word--yup!! only thing i'd rather have are Grover stuttertones (fire truck horns) only they're not readily availably to the general public.

hadleys are AWESOME:D :D :D :D :D

Evan gave his horn a toot and I dam near fell over. He has his installed under the bed I guess. I was very loud, and very cool

Hadley Bully horns

I have the solenoid activated Hadley Bully horns - from JC Whitney. If you watch for them to go on "sale," OR when they have one of those 20% off coupons, OR the free shipping deal, you can get them for approx. $212-217 out the door. That is the cheapest I have seen them. Their "regular" price is $249. 95. The lanyard activated set is $10 cheaper if I remember right.

Our work delivery truck has the grovers, they are nice. It is installed with a button in the dash, easily reachable. You might not want to use the factory horn button for the airs- they are times when you do just need a simple "horn". Wouldn't want to give grandpa driver a heart attack!!!:D :D

I myself installed the Wolo from JCW, $60, not great, but loud enough and they were not $250+, so I don't expect them to sound that way. One of these days when money the money grows faster, I'll have a set of Grovers... ... ... ...

Until then, Made in Taiwan!!

Grampa's Heart Attack

And why not? You might just save Grampa from making a really dumb idiotic mistake that could easily get someone seriously hurt or worse. ;) j/k

I have the Hadley Bullys. Papa Joe has the Grovers. Hadleys are definately louder, Grovers sound more like a 18 Wheeler.

I installed mine inline with the factory horns, and also put a inline switch to turn them off if needed. I have never turned them off. I'll bet that once you get them installed you won't turn them off either.

Horns are mounted to the crossmember behind the radiator. Air tank is mounted where the stock air filter box use to be (Psychotty installed), and compressor is mounted just below the air tank.

Another reason for mounting the air tank where the stock air filter box was, is to have some auxillary air supply. I know very small, but still will fill up air matresses and innertubes and tires (very slowly).

Hadleys also come with an auxillary air hose and nossle.

24V-I've said this a dozen times, but here goes again. I installed the Hadley Ambassodors on the roof. I guess they work cuz I got stopped the other night by the local cops-"horns too loud"! they said. My reply was "It took me all day puttin' these things on-you think I'm not gonna use 'em??" He didn't smile.
