Is there any problem with the amount of air line between the valve and the horns? I am thinking of mounting the valve on the tank mounted in the bed of the truck but worry about lag time from the time you hit the button till a loud noise occurs.

When I installed the On Board Air system on my 2002 I first had the air horn selinoid mounted on the tank. When you hit the horn button it would take a moment or two befor the horn sounded and it was not as crisp a blast as when I moved it right next to the horns. I have a pair of Grover stutter horns mounted under the front bumper. They sure are sweet but consum air.

What size line is used on these air horns? I have it hooked up but it sounds like a golf cart horn. I may have too small a line on it.

I used generic air-brake hose on my setup. Got a 20' long piece from the local truck stop repair shop for a few bucks.

Put the valve as close to the horns as possible. The horn will sound better and be more "instant" when you hit the button.
