Hey guys im lookin to put an air horn in my truck and I see that grover has a kit with a compressor etc. but I think I would rather go with just a air tank that I fill up every now and then and no compressor my question is where should I go to get all these supplies I live near a catco and I think they sell these things also what PSI do I need to have in the tank and where is the best place to mount all this stuff and im also thinking im gonna need a electric actuator for the whole thing what do those cost

thanks

85-100 psi should be enough for modest air horns, but you will have to have a big enough tank to handle the air volume if you don't want to have to refill the tank after each use... Have fun...

A few members have had good luck with out of date dive tanks, fill to 2000 lbs or so (not sure about that) and go for many weeks without having to refill. Of course you've got to pick up a regulator to cut pressures back to 100 psig or so.

thanks guys for the help but I found a grover fire truck horn with a compressor and a 1 gallon tank im gonna put it in as soon as it comes in does anyone have any experience with this horn as to how loud it is and how hard it is to put in my truck thanks

How did things go with your horn install? Where did you get yours? Did you find any sites that have the Grover sound clips of the horns?

Thanks,

Sandy
