Air hose - dual rear wheels

I am looking for a device that will make it more convenient to check and adjust air pressure in the dual rear wheels on my Ram. I have seen a few advertised but wondered what the experience of others has been regarding these. Of interest also is whether they significantly change the balance of the wheels.

Any help will be appreciated.

I had the same questions two weeks ago. I bought ($30-40) a kit that has hoses that extend to brackets on the hub to get access where I could reach it. The instructions said to mount the tires with the valves 180 degrees apart, to offset balance problems.

I installed the kit, and the jury is out on balance problems.

Who makes the product you purchased and who did you buy it from? I have found some hoses in the Camping World catalog. I'm not sure yet if they will work since they are really aimed at motor homes and such.

Lembaar, I bought the ones from Camping World. The manufacturer states on the pkg. that they are not to be used with rubber valve stems (our Rams). Made sense to me after feeling the weight of the extensions. The clips provided would not have made for an easy install either. I returned them.

I got mine at a local camping supplier. They come in rubber or steel sheathed (I got rubber), and in three or four variations, depending on the wheels and wheel covers.

For the Ram SLT, the kit with two hoses (one with a right angle adapter), and two 90 degree brackets to be pop riveted to the hub is the right one. Comes with rivets - provide your own tool.

Later I looked at Camping World, and they didn't have that specific kit.

Be careful when attaching extensions to outer rims, make sure they are secure. I bought a generic set with the steel lines and they slung loose and pulled my valve stems out of my inside wheels. I admit this was due to installation error. But just wanted to let you know what can happen.

I have the stainless lines from camping world installed on my stock rubber valve stems since 96 and have had no problems. I am now on my 2nd set of tires. No balance problems either.
