Local diesel shop says they cant bleed all the air out of my lines, after the injector swap. What, if anything can I do to help him. Ive been without my truck for 3 weeks now Im about to go insane! He said he'll work on it more monday. Dont know how much more I can take of this guy jerking me around. Took 7 days just to put 6 injectors in a 5. 9 and to run the valves... . I dont think so... . #@$%! #@$%! #@$%! #@$%! #@$%!

He's done something wrong that he won't admit to... ...

When you cycle the key... on for 15 sec, off and than back on again... . the pump in the tank will push fuel through about 90% of the lines with the excess fuel and air returning back to the tank... . and the truck should start... . it might take another 20 min to work all the air bubbles out of the system... . but that's it.....

We've had our 04, 04. 5 and 05 with the system open..... and no problems... . BTW we've had to change the 04 and 04. 5 to the pump in the tank..... like the 05's have. .

It sounds like he is jerkin' ya. When you get there, bump the starter (but dont let the truck start) you will hear the sucker purging. Usually one or two times is enough but it might take 4 of these cycles before she will start. You need not open fuel lines for bleeding. I am a neophyte and have not had any trouble starting the truck after doing injection work. The truck hasn't been quite right either but it does start. :D

I would definately let him know that you brought in a truck that ran just fine, and you expect to get back a truck that runs.

ANother case of "woulda been cheaper to buy the tools and do it myself. " Plus, it sounds like you may end up fixing up his mess-up. Joy, joy. It wasnt Swintzel's (sp?) Diesel in Ft collins CO, was it

When my injectors were modified the shop had all six out at the same time. Once reconnected the truck fired within minute or two. Are you sure the lift pump is working?

Purrformance Diesel in Fredericktown, Ohio. Yes truck has 13,000 miles on it ran perfect, other than broken injector, when i took it in. Well see how this ends up

On the 3rd gen trucks with the Common Rail, the injectors are opened and closed with an electronic signal. They should open and close even if there is no fuel right behind the injector. This should purge the air out a lot quicker than the old injectors that relied on a pulse of fuel pressure to push the fuel past the injector. I've had no problems starting mine after a fuel filter change compared to my '99. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
