First off I have a Scotty II with a Uni dual foam filter and I love it. The filter is getting pretty stiff and starting to deteriorate. Talked to Uni and they don't make that filter any more. I don't want to go back to a gauze oiled filter because I don't think they filter as well. I drive a lot of dirt roads and silica levels went up on oil samples when I used an AFE. With the Uni my silica levels were 0
Does anyone out there have have a Uni laying around they would want to get rid of?
Next option, what is everyone using for a cold air intake these days? I have been looking at a S&B cold air system with a dry paper filter and was wondering if anyone is using this system and have any opinions?
Willing to look at all options except oiled gauze filters, oil samples don't lie
Thanks Mike

I'm running a Volant filter made by Donaldson. I don't have the part number handy at the moment. It mounts on the end of the turbo hose like a BHAF. Had a BHAF previously. This one flows about double the air of a BHAF. Seems like about 12-1300CFM. It is about 8" diameter and about 8" long. Much smaller that a BHAF. Volant has some specs on their website.

GReed,
Is that Volant an oiled filter? Are you using same intake as you did with the BHAF? or Volant cold air intake?

No, the filter is a dry filter. It is a honeycomb filter. The air inlet is the front. The filter dimensions are 8"X8"X4". Originally I used the same 4" PVC connector that I used with the BHAF. I noticed a bit of heat warpage on the PVC, so I replaced that with a piece of 4" aluminum tubing. The part # for the Volant filter is 61504 and the outerwares pre filter is 51921. Both items can be found on Amazon. Volant has some good info on the filter on their website. I got the idea from a thread on Mopar1973man.com. I'm not using the Volant cold air kit. I did wrap the sides of the filter with some aluminum ducting tape and then wrapped the filter with some Thermo Guard heat blanket.
