Close encounters of the tree kind

I have seen the posts regarding the Advanced Air Ride hitch, which was sued in court for patent infringement. That was back in 2000 if I read it correctly. Is the product the company is selling now still a patent infringement or is he in the clear now? The design etc. looks like it would be heavy duty, and has shocks on it as well. I don't want to patronize someone who is selling something illegally, or doesn't stand behind his product. What are your views?

I bought my hitch from Advaced Air Hitch. I don't know about all the patent B. S. but the hitch is awesome. I used it for a year pulling a 15,000lb toyhauler.

The hitch is now for sale because I sold the fith wheel. $1250.

Thanks for the reply; did it take a lot of the bumps/jarring out of the ride? The difference I see in the hitch and Reese Easy Rider, is the slide setup. Advanced uses the composite material vs. rollers with the Reese. How does the composite seem to hold up?

You wont believe the difference a air ride hitch makes vs. a fixed hitch. No more teeth jarring and the ride is so smooth.

The UHMW or teflon, whatever they use for the composite sliding hasn't worn at all. This hitch is so beefy and at the same time smooth as you cruise down the road.

If you have any other questions, just ask.

I think you just answered the question I had, and that was how the composite bearing material held up. Sounds like it does just fine from what I read. This might be a stupid question, but it does fit into the standard rail setup? I currently have the Lil Rocker by RBW and it transmits all the bumps etc into the cab. I take it you are happy with the Advanced Air Ride? I appreciate your help.

My hitch came with Reese rails. I assume the distance between them are the same from hitch to hitch?

Yes I loved the hitch while I had the fifth wheel trailer.

Food for thought

SRehberg,

I looked at air ride hitches, they are pretty pricey. For that kind of money you can get Kelderman Air Ride suspension for the truck and have a great ride all the time. Seems to me that it would give the same result towing.
