With all the money we pour into our trucks, there is one modification that I did a couple of years ago that my wife just loves - an Espar engine heater. Now she only complains about the seats, and rightfully so.

I've spent thousands on other things, never really taking into consideration of the comfort level INSIDE the truck. I, along with many others out there basically love the truck but can't stand the seats. I'm also in the truck a considerable amount of time during the day as it's basically my office.

I sat in my friends 2005 SLT on Saturday after he did the free seat upgrade, and it felt better. Cushier in the center, but my cheeks felt like they were kinda falling off to each side, and I dont' have big'uns either!

So, last week I pulled the trigger and purchased a set of National seats and air ride bases. Both will be heated and leather. I've been looking for about a year at salvage yard seats and couldn't find anything worthy of installing (color, condition, etc. . ).

They should be here the end of next week. Oo.

Has anyone else considered this option? If so, how do you like them so far?

Do you have a link for where you ordered them from... . Could be a worthwhile investment as the stock seats are a pain in the *****... . No pun intended.

I got mine from Suburban Seating as their price was about 500 less than the competition for the same exact order.

Truck Seats, Truck Seat - New Truck Seats

I got the black/gray leather, ride suspensions, bracket kit for the center console and heat kits. I already have a Kilby onboard system, so I didn't have to get their compressor.

I think I spoke to Mike. Seems like good service and they had them out the same day.

I've looked at these exact seats, and seriously considered them! I only withheld due to the funding situation at the time.

I would love to try them out... and if I ever drive over 10,000 miles again in 3 weeks in this truck, I think they will be a necessity!!!

Looking forward to your pictures and feedback...

I really wanted to order the Sportster HD's, but come to find out the regular Sportster or Workhorse is the only one that's "legal" to put into our trucks. It has something to do with your seating position in reference to air bag, etc.

The HD's are 2. 5" higher and puts you out of this zone.

Anyway, I'm stoked and looking forward to getting them and I'll definately post some pics after I'm done. :D

Perhaps my search ability is lacking but I couldn't find either of those seats on that site you posted.

I've been looking for something to put in place of my stock seats also..... :)

I don't see why not; it's not like it's a secret!

I talked to Mike Botti and my total for two seats, heat kits, air ride suspensions and bracket kit for the center console: $2060. 00

Remember, I have on-board air so I didn't need the compressor kit. I don't know the price on that.

Shipping depends on where you're at. Mine is going UPS ground to Tacoma and then on a boat from there. Costing me about $500 or so for that.

Sounds like $2500 is alot for a hope at ride/comfort, but the way I see it is that it's an investment into our ride. I found a thread yesterday (after I posted ofcourse) where a guy didn't like the lack of lateral movement and that his seat is in his basement waiting for a dump run. Too bad I don't live close to him!

I shouldn't second guess, but I think we all do to a certain extent when it comes to parting with hard earned money. I'm just doing my part in supporting our econony :D.

Seats should be here Wednesday. :D

I ordered the center console bracket kit, so I'll be able to keep the console, which is good because I have the console vault that's sold by Genos Garage.

I'll be able to put the seats in this coming weekend and will post pics. Oo.

What is the console bracket number? Or link? I see the brackets for the seats, but do not see the console bracket. Thank you very much. Am awaiting your pics. Did you get the seats yet?

Hey fellas... . Got the seats today! Oo. Oo.

They arrived damage free (it's always a crapshoot with truck/barge freight) and I'm impressed so far. Leather smells good (fart free :p). Construction appears to be top notch.

Only thing that I don't like thusfar is that the passenger seat is exactly the same as the drivers, which means that the air controls will be between the seat and center console. I knew this from the get-go, so no surprise. Guess my wife will have to memorize which switch does what! :-laf

I've been real busy with work and should get some photo's up Friday night and, with any amount of luck, the install process Saturday. I have to make some room in the garage first.

I need to install the heat elements in the seats first then run the wiring and mount the switches. Run some air line from my tank manifold and I should be in business.

Stay tuned... ...

Melvin - Part number I have on my invoice for the console bracket is NAT-CNS KIT-SK 1510 03.

I don't know if that's special to Suburban Auto Seat or not.

I should have some pics up Friday night and/or Saturday. :D

And some frown at me for spending $3800 on a Temper-pedic celebrity mattress. Dense memory foam is the best way to sleep.
Can't blame you one minute for wanting comfort. The older a man gets the more "comfort" we look forward too.

Great idea! I hope your install goes easy. Courious as to how much head room is left with seat adjusted and I would like to know how tall your are. What is the vertical travel distance? Being 6'4" Head room is a must. I cannot (except Mecedes) own a car with a sunroof because they have less head room.

Yippee! I'm excited for you! Now, go out on Sunday and a hit a few good frost heaves for me and report back on how these seats do!

The National Seating part number would be NTS SK1510 03.

Here is a link to the National Seating catalog, don't lose it as it is a bear to find. Seating

Go down to filters and select "light truck and van" in the left hand box and then select "National Seating in the right hand box.

The Dodge bases are in block "M" and the seats are in block "P".

Open and select the part number pdf.

Air Compressor, console bracket kits, etc are in there also, under accessories I think.

This is not offered to tamper with Suburban Seating, it will only help you guys see what National offers when you are shopping. You can't buy direct from National Seating anyhow unless you are a dealer.
